The PE Shed

Room 5 is learning how to use the PE Shed at lunchtime.

Ezekiel in Room 12 made this movie to show us how to use the PE Shed.

Hi Rez comes to Earth

Today we had a special show in the hall.

It was about an alien coming to Earth. They had to show her how to be a friend. It was very funny and we laughed a lot. 

 

It is nice to include other people in our games. Then everyone feels welcome. We are good at being friends and being kind to each other in Room 5.

A visit from Ruby

Room 5 had a very special visitor on Thursday. 

Ruby came to visit us. Ruby is a dog. She looks just like Hairy Maclary. We have been reading a lot of books about Hairy Maclary. He is a very funny dog and always gets into mischief.

We loved having Ruby come to our class.

We recorded our ideas about Ruby visiting us using an app called Puppet Pals.

Before school

Look where Anna found some of Room 5 before school this morning....in our reading tent.

 

What a great morning of learning!

The Reading Tent

Look at the bag. 

We wondered what was in it? Was it wood? It was heavy.

It was a tent. There were poles, pegs and ties. There were even instructions so we would know how to build it.

The pole was very long. It was 3 children long.

We all helped to build our tent. Look we can all fit in it. 

We are going to use the tent for reading.

Dancing in Positive Assembly

Room 5 likes dancing. We often dance to songs by Koo Koo Kangaroo.

At Positive Assembly the whole school danced to one of our favourite songs so we went up on stage to dance too.

Our Treaty

This is Room 5's Treaty.

These are the things we will do in Room 5 so everyone has a good time at school.

We all talked about how we wanted to be in our classroom and how we could help each other.

We will have a fantastic year learning together.

The Sandpit

Room 5 helped move the new sand into the Kowhai Sandpit.

 

We used the buckets and spades.

We had to work together to move the sand.

The new sand is very cool.

We liked digging the sand.

Homebooks

Today we are bringing home our Homebooks.

They go home in our book bags on a Friday and come back to school on Monday.

There might be a story we have written and a poem we have learnt.

We look after our special Homebooks.

We can read our story and poem to our families.

We can also practice our alphabet and letter sounds.

The Dental Van

The Dental Van is at Hamilton East School.

It is like going to the dental clinic but in a big van instead.

Room 5 went to check it out. 

The ladies that work there Ann and Trudi are very nice.

  

We will be bringing home notices after we have visited the dental nurses in the van.
