My cat likes to hide in boxes

Room 5 loves the book "My cat likes to hide in boxes" by Eve Sutton.
Sienna found her cat doing something funny. Her Dad emailed this photo to Anna.

Look at Sienna's cat Lewis hiding in a box.

Anna read us one of her favourite books from when she was little. It was called "The Terrible Taniwha of Timberditch" by Joy Cowley.
We drew our own pictures of what we thought the taniwha might look like using Kidpix.
Click on the photo to read our stories about our taniwha.

Today we had an awesome concert from Strike Percussion at our school.
We loved it! It was very loud but a lot of fun.

Ryan told the guys in Strike he thought that they were awesome.

Here is a sneak peek of the concert.

Happy Readers

Look at these happy readers.
Do you know they have all read 40 books with Anna?
40 books! WOW!!!

We got given some scarves.
It was cool because we all got to choose which one we wanted.
They feel so nice and soft. Some of them feel tickly around our necks.

Thank you to the lovely ladies who knitted our scarves for us.
They will keep us nice and warm.

Mother's Day

Room 5 has thought of so many things our Mums do for us.
We are so lucky to have such wonderful mothers.

Have a look at some of the reasons we love our Mums.

Kowhai Trees

Anna's Dad sent Room 5 a parcel. Anna is our amazing teacher (Room 5 insisted that this had to go on our blog). Before we opened it we felt the envelope and tried to guess what it could be. Lots of us thought it was money. But it was Kowhai seeds.
Luckily Anna's Dad put some instructions on what to do with the seeds.
Take a look at our photos to see what we did.

We can't wait to see how long they take to grow.

Cashtastic Superhero

Today we had a special visitor from ASB.
She is actually a superhero!
The Cashtastic Superhero taught us a lot about money.

We know that some money is called coins and some money is called dollar notes.
We are so clever we helped to put the money in order.

We also learnt about needs and wants.
A need is something you have to have to live.  We need water, food, shelter and love to live.
A want is something you would like. We want lollies, juice, chips and chocolate.
