Today we had a visit from Amanda from Hamilton City Council.
She talked to us about being safe around dogs.
If we see a dog we would like to pat
we have to do these things -
- Ask the owner to pat the dog. "Can I pat your dog please?
- If they say yes. You make a fist with your hand and let the dog sniff it.
- Then you can pat the dog under their chin or on their chest.
If a dog runs up to us we stand like a tree and cross our arms over our chest.
If a dog pushes us over we need to make a ball with our body and put our hands over our neck.
