The Cello

We are very lucky at Hamilton East School to have a teacher who can play a lot of different instruments. Ms Langdon brought her cello in to show Room 5.

Ms Langdon brought her cello to school. It played lots of music.

Minnie - Our Buddy

Room 5 has created our buddy for Buddy Day.
Her name is Minnie. She is 5 years old and goes to Hamilton East School.

Minnie loves writing and reading. She really likes reading with her friends on the bean bags.

Minnie has liked learning about seeds and how to grow plants.

Minnie loves playing in Fairyland and in the Kowhai sandpit.
The rainbow playground is fun too.
We had a lot of fun having Minnie in our classroom.

We hope Minnie has a great day on Buddy Day.

Class of 1953

We had special visitors to our school.
They were people who used to come to Hamilton East School in 1953.
We showed them around the Kitchen Garden. We showed them what we had been growing. They asked us a lot of great questions.

We liked meeting them and showing them around Hamilton East School.

Gardening with Room 5

We have had a busy day in Room 5 today.
Miriam came to help us in the Kitchen Garden. Thank you for the plants and your help.
We also got some beans from Faye. We have planted them in our classroom.
Take a look at our photopeach of our learning in the garden.

Room 5's Seed Shop

Room 5 is going to sell Kings Seeds at school.  We made a video to explain what we are doing.
Room 5 thought about the plants they liked growing and eating to help them choose what seeds to sell.
We will be sending a notice home to all the families in our school so that they can buy seeds if they want to.

New Things

We walked around our school and had a look to see what had changed after the holidays.

There is now a big garden in the Kitchen Garden.

We could see the beginnings of plums on the plum trees. They aren't ready to eat yet. They are small hard and green.

There are flowers on the strawberry plants.

There is a new mural on the swimming pool wall. We love the fish swimming.

There are also new fences and rails to help us around the school.
