Stickers for Rafiki Mwema

These children from Room 5 bought some stickers to send to the girls at Rafiki Mwema.

We wrote messages for the girls. We shared things we like to do at school and things we like to do with our families. We also shared photos of us in different places around our school.

Tree Planting

Hamilton East School is really good at recycling. We got rewarded for our great recycling by Paper for Trees who gave us 12 trees for our school. Our trees came from Bruntwood Nurseries.
Room 5 helped to plant some of them today.

We planted 2 lemon trees, 2 feijoa trees and 2 lime trees.
When they have grown bigger we will be able to eat the fruit that they grow. We might even be able to do baking with the fruit.

We will have to look after the plants by watering and fertilising them.

Do not open this book!

Room 5 loved a book Anna read us called "Do not open this book".
We even wrote our own stories about it.
Click on the photo to read our book only if you feel brave.

Danger!
Don't forget if you're scared you can close the book.
If you aren't scared keeping turning the pages.

Operetta

Tonight is our first night time Operetta performance. We are very excited.
We need to be at school between 6:30-6:45pm so we can get changed into our costumes. Everyone in Rooms 5, 6, and 8 need to come to the Room 5 door to be dropped off and collected. If our parents want to pick us up after we have performed they can pick us up at 7:30pm.
Here's a sneak peek at what we will look like......

Little Shop

Room 5 got a very special surprise last week.
Look at what was inside the boxes....

We were very excited to see all the Little Shop toys.
We are so lucky that Anna had a great idea of how we can use Little Shop in our classroom.

Operetta

We have our school Operetta coming soon at Hamilton East School.
Every class is going to perform on the stage. Our families can come and watch us too.
Rooms 5, 6 and 8 are performing together.
We are allowed to wear whatever colour we would like. But all our clothes need to be that colour.
Look at this photo to see what we mean -
One person is wearing a purple top and purple leggings.
Another person is wearing a blue top and blue jeans.
The other person is wearing a dark blue top and dark blue jeans.

We would love it if all the kids in Room 5 could bring their Operetta clothes in a plastic bag with their name on it to school on Friday.
