Skipping

Today we skipped with all of Kowhai Team. Room 10 were the helpers with the ropes and games. They were amazing at helping us. We like skipping.

Thank you to Ms O'Neil and Room 10 for organising a fun skipping morning for Room 4.

Balloons

We filled a bottle about 1/2 full of vinegar. Anna carefully put baking soda into the balloon. Then she had to put the balloon onto the bottle.

Anna held up the balloon so that the baking soda went in. The balloon started to blow up. We were worried that the balloon would explode.
Anna did the experiment again but this time she put more baking soda in.

Matariki

Today was the start of Matariki.
Some children in Room 4 showed the actions to Twinkle Twinkle Little Star in Positive Assembly.

Room 12 and Mrs Blair made pumpkin soup and they shared it with us.
Raedence said the soup was awesome.
We made scones and shared them with Room 12.

Baby Charlotte

We had a visit from Jen and baby Charlotte. They brought us some delicious mandarins from their garden.
We loved having a baby to visit us in Room 4.

We had a lot of questions about her. She slept for nearly the whole time she was in Room 4. Lucky we are so good at being quiet.
Here is some of our writing about our sleeping visitor.

Calendar Art

Look at the beautiful autumn tree collages we made.
We can buy these from the school office so they can be made into either a calendar or cards.

A Bad Day

Anna shared a story with us about she had a bad day when she thought she had lost her keys. Luckily they were in the school office.
We talked a lot about bad things that had happened to us. Then we wrote and published our own stories about when we had a bad day.

Tane Mahuta Day

We are celebrating Tane Mahuta Day. It is when we celebrate the trees and our school environment.
Anna painted a tree on our window.
We all helped to make some beautiful leaves for the tree. We think we have made a lovely tree together.

We played "I spy" around our school. We had to find the trees in the photos. We had to look very carefully at the photos and the trees to see if they matched.

We got to go onto Putikitiki and had a little play on the playground. We also got to see some ladybirds and fantails that like to live in the trees.

Happy Day

Today is a happy day and a sad day. 5 children from Room 4 are moving to other classes in Kowhai Team on Tuesday. We will miss them but we know they will have a great time learning in Room 1 and Room 2.

We will be able to see all their wonderful learning by looking at their class blogs. Click on the photo to link you to their blog  -

Anna even got given flowers and a lovely card to thank her.
WOW! What a gorgeous surprise.
